A parting word from your retiring Director of Music: Thanks!
The past twelve years at A&HT have been very important and significant times of life for both the parish and for me personally; I am grateful for the connection. Considering where the Chancel Choir was when I first came, I am tempted to nominate them to NASA for their meteoric rise in dedication, musicality, discipline, caring, outreach, support, energy and performance consistency. I am enormously proud of them and truly believe that they offer something extraordinary for an Episcopal parish of the size of A&HT. Please continue to support them in the 'new chapter' that awaits us all in 2012.
I am not leaving Cincinnati, nor am I moving to another church. I am simply responding to a spiritual signal that I first received last spring and ignored, but which came again this fall: that it is time for me to retire from the regular commitment which has kept me on the church organ bench for 57 years. My deep appreciation to the rector and vestry for conferring the title of Music Director Emeritus; I hope that this will keep a connection between me and the many friends I have made here.
Blessings to you all; keep breathing, keep singing the hymns, and watch the punctuation!
Festival Doxology!
