A&HT has a strong tradition of active participation in outreach ministries and projects. We continue this tradition by providing financial and organizational support and by enabling members of our church family to experience the joy of serving those in need.
Here is an outline of our current focus.
We support A&HT parishioners who are active in the following local ministries…
Valley Interfaith Food & Clothing Center (“VIFCC”) (Contact – OPEN)
This ministry in Lockland provides food and clothing to needy families in the Mill Creek Valley. Each year, parishioners provide Christmas gifts of clothing for children selected through VIFCC’s Christmas Gift Program.
Lincoln Heights Health Center Literacy Program (Top Borden 771-7553)
Based in Lincoln Heights, very near to Wyoming, this ministry provides adults and older youth an opportunity to read to young children in the health center’s waiting room. The Lincoln Heights Health Center meets the health and dental care needs of low income families in the northern metro area.
Academy of Multilingual and Immersion Studies (Dee Damico 772-0065)
We support tutoring and extra curricular activities at this Cincinnati Public School, to help integrate low-income immigrant students and their parents.
Interfaith Hospitality Network (Ariel Miller 221-0547)
This ministry provides emergency shelter and hospitality for temporarily homeless families. We artner with Christ Church Glendale in hosting these families about every eight weeks by providing dinner, homework help and babysitting and overnight monitoring.
Kairos Prison Ministry (Top Borden 771-7553)
Parishioners bake cookies for prisoners who participate in a weekend “Kairos” retreat at a local prison.
To volunteer your time and talent to support these ministries, please speak with the contact persons listed above.
We support the medical mission of Drs. Anita and Michael Dohn in the Dominican Republic. Anita and Michael Dohn and their family are Cincinnati-based Episcopalians working with needy Dominican families.
