For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them.

ABOUT US

Mission Statement

We are a Christian community of the Anglican tradition. We know and love God, love our neighbor, and unashamedly share that experience with the world.

Who We Are

At A&HT, everyone is welcome! We are a warm and caring faith community of families and singles, young and old. Our members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and religious traditions, and live in neighborhoods throughout Greater Cincinnati.

A&HT is part of the Episcopal Church in the United States, which is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion (churches that have a common origin in the Church of England). Episcopal churches, or parishes, in the United States are grouped together under a diocese, which is presided over by a Bishop. A&HT is part of the Diocese of Southern Ohio, which represents about 30,000 Episcopalians in more than 80 churches throughout the southern half of the state.

A&HT is located in the heart of the historic village district of Wyoming, Ohio, which is a suburban community in northern Cincinnati, in a residential area. Wyoming is noted for its varied architectural styles and beautiful tree-lined streets. The church can be found at the corner of Burns Avenue and Worthington Avenue.

Parking is available on the streets around the church. On the Worthington Avenue side of the church, there are designated handicap parking spots, near a wheelchair ramp that provides access to the church sanctuary.

Church History

The present parish began in 1872 with the establishment of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Hartwell, a community adjacent to Wyoming to the south. In 1893, several families successfully petitioned the bishop for permission to begin "Ascension Mission" in Wyoming, about a mile and a half from Hartwell. The site of the present church was purchased in 1894.

After 75 years as two separate congregations, the members of these two churches voted to form one strong parish. With the merger of Ascension & Holy Trinity complete, a new church building soon became a reality. Proceeds from the sale of the Holy Trinity property and several major capital fund drives eliminated the parish debt. The present church was consecrated in 1975.

Church Facilities

A&HT's facilities include a church, education building, and parish hall, joined together as one unit. A memorial garden is located in a recessed area between the church and parish hall and faces Burns Avenue. A gathering place patio, created in 2005, is located next to the education building and faces Worthington Avenue. During the summer, a casual worship service is offered at 9:00 am on Sunday morning in this beautifully landscaped outdoor setting.

The church's rectory, a historical Victorian home, is adjacent to the church complex on the corner of Worthington Avenue and Grove Avenue. The rectory is available to the parish priest for his/her residence. The church also owns a residential property on Grove Avenue abutting the rectory. This property is currently leased to a tenant family.

The parish hall and various meeting rooms in the education building are available for use, free of charge, by community groups. Please contact the church office for more information. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am - 1 pm.
